Creating Config files
It wasn't until I joined [KIA2] in late 1999 was I shown the world of config files by none other than the master of configs & settings [KIA]JuGGeR. He would give both me & 'Sir Killalot' (aka General) access to the KIA.pak1 file, contained scripts like the well known & used Long_Jump along with other scripts like gauss_jumps, backwards long_jump, auto_reload & the cheeky finisher_combo aliases. Now that I had my hands on KIA's pak file it wasn't long before I took apart the script files, threw in a mix of CHiNX & Renkie's settings with a few custom tweaks of my own and I was in business or as my brother says 'cooking with gas!' Now my game results went up ten fold, with moves seen in servers in previous games that were out of reach were for the first time a walk in the park to perform.

After picking up the Microsoft Intelli-Mouse Explorer I finally had the tools for the job. With it's 7-button feature, the mouse would allow me to have almost every important task assigned without the need to use the keyboard. Bunny Hopping was still very new back in 2000 and only they very elite knew the art and it would be another year before I started picking it up.

My Control Setup
The control setup I use has been quoted by many has "Impossible to play with". I did at one point look at changing a few keys but found it a complete nightmare to use so I went back to what I know best. The difference with my controls to all other HLDM/AG players is that I can't bunny hop & longjump at the same time without pulling off some fast key presses.

Why I hear you say? Well to place both bunny hop & longjump on one mouse button it requires me to use a custom written script to switch the button assigned between the two jump modes. So unlike most players who use the mouse wheel to bunny hop (which is far too easy ) I have to switch jump modes then perform the bunny and then switch back to longjump when needed whilst fighting at high speed. Try it! You will find it takes some skill to perform when playing arena against the very best. Eddz, Duplex, General, Badz and even Rage have all tried/Seen my controls and found it to be complete madness.

Less Scripts The Better
I once did use gauss_jump scripts back in 2000 but after find that manual gauss jumping in 2001 way out performed scripted jumps I disabled them all. Now I'm a strong believer of less scripts the better the player and those who use the quick zoom bow scripts are at the top of the ladder for 'lame script use' in my book.
